Richard joined stockbrokers Philips & Drew in 1973 as a board boy in their money market department, and progressed to become a junior dealer before moving on to R.P.Martin, where he learned about the money and foreign exchange markets.
After an eventful and enjoyable period with RPM, Richard started a new career as a futures broker. The Liffe market opened and Richard joined Babcock & Brown on the acquisition journey, eventually becoming a board member of the company rebranded to Prebon Yamane.
In 1991, Richard started his own business with a partner, eventually selling the business to REFCO, whereupon became the largest floor broker on Liffe.
Richard decided to embrace new challenges towards the end of the 1990s, including opening the first day trader’s arcade in Marbella, and now acts as a freelance writer, podcaster and consultant to the deliverable Foreign Exchange business GC Partners.
